Run Sweetheart Run tries to be a feminist horror movie while focusing on a wholly uninteresting protagonist whose most defining traits are, yes, her maternity and her menstrual cycle. The percentage of Approved Tomatometer Critics who have given this movie a positive review. It's not all bad with Run Sweetheart Run, but it's bad enough.
As mentioned, Balinska is an engaging talent, and Asbaek is having a good time being evil. Every man in Run Sweetheart Run, except for a couple friends of Cherie's awful ex, is a vile human being. Shana Feste's Run Sweetheart Run gives the survive-the-night horror film a new twist, but there's also a thinly-veiled metaphor at the center of a shallow plot. Sure, the message is heavy-handed, but if it's a positive one, and the movie's entertaining, then it's a journey worth embarking on. I'm okay with a movie going EXACTLY where you expect it to if that place as is as crucial and timely and necessary to get to as this.
